My body remembers the music my mind has not forgotten: Tempo, grace notes, rhythm, the dancing of my soul in perfect harmony with joy. A waltz. Three-Quarter Time. Flowing and Precise.
When our world frays at the edges, and the walls close in, all it takes is a breath, three steps, and a turn to find your way home.
This is triangle breathing. A sacred waltz of three:
- Inhale, two-three.
- Hold, two-three.
- Exhale, two-three.
- Hold two-three.
Then again. And again. Feel how your body gently sways in rhythm from side to side. Set your imagination free and waltz to your breath.
Moving through this cadence, the left brain and the right begin to sway toward one another. Logic, feeling, structure, and sensation—partners in the same slow dance. A bilateral effect begins: one hemisphere, then the other, rocked gently by breath’s symmetry.
You may feel it in your hands, feet, and eyes—your body moving in time with a deeper intelligence. This is not just regulation. It is revelation—a ritual of return.
When panic sets in, or shame coils tight, triangle breathing lays down the pattern the soul can trace. It doesn’t rush. It doesn’t push. It rocks you like water: a tide, a cradle, a soft drumbeat in the chest.
Trace a triangle on your palm. Or close your eyes. Inhale… hold… exhale… hold… Over time, this rhythm becomes more than practice—it becomes a presence. A way to touch the unseen. A way to stay with yourself in the storm. A way to hear the wisdom in your lungs whisper:
You are here. You are whole. You are already home.
